Edward E. Gordon is an internationally recognized researcher, writer, and speaker on workforce development, education reform, literacy, and history. His books on talent creation and education-to-employment issues include: Winning the Global Talent Showdown: How Businesses and Communities Can Partner to Rebuild the Jobs Pipeline (Berrett-Koehler, 2009), 2010 Meltdown: Solving the Impending Jobs Crisis (Praeger, 2005), and Skill Wars: Winning the Battle for Productivity and Profit,
(Butterworth-Heinemann, 2000). He is also a coauthor of The Tutoring Revolution: Applying Research for Best Practices, Policy Implications, and Student Achievement (Rowman & Littlefield Education, 2006), and Literacy in America: Historic Journey and Contemporary Solutions (Praeger, 2003). Ed has published over 200 articles in such diverse publications as MWorld (American Management Association), Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Training, The Futurist (World Future Society), and Employee Benefit News.
Ed Gordon is President of Imperial
Consulting, a Chicago-based consulting firm that advises corporations,
educational institutions, workforce boards, government agencies,
and trade associations on diverse aspects of talent development
and education reform. Dr. Gordon received his Ph.D. in psychology
and history from Loyola University, Chicago. He serves on the board
of the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois.
He is also a member of the Education Quality Workforce Committee
of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the Youth Council of the
Chicago Workforce Board, the Executive Committee of the Chicago
Manufacturing Renaissance Council, and the Advisory Board of the
Roosevelt University Graduate Program in Training and Development.
