Readers may be interested in an article by Marilyn J. Chiat,
author of the recently published book, "America's Religious
Architecture: Sacred Places for Every Community," that
is in the latest issue of "Faith and Form: Journal of
the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture."
(Volume XXXI. Number 3, 1998, pp. 25-26.) The article, entitled
"Documents of Faith," discusses the need for
recognizing architecture as a form of "document" with
important information about the people who built and used our
nation's places of worship.
Her most recent appearance is at the New York Landmarks Conservancy
on Thursday, February 25. The title of the slide presentation
is: "America's Magnificent Mosaic: A Survey of Religious
